Development & Management
Kaplan Development Group, LLC (“KDG”) is a company focused on the ownership, acquisition, development, redevelopment, and management of senior living facilities located along the eastern seaboard of the United States. The Company will continue to capitalize on the improving demographics of the senior living industry. Additionally, the Company has an active pipeline of assisted living projects. The development pipeline currently has projects in various stages of approved development and construction. The Company’s strategy is to acquire, develop, redevelop, and manage senior living facilities.
KDG is led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Kaplan, founder and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kapson Senior Quarters Corp. (“Kapson”), a NASDAQ listed company until its sale in 1998. Mr. Kaplan’s career in senior living began in 1970 and in 1972; he established Kapson and became its Chief Executive Officer. He oversaw the growth of the company to 27 properties located throughout the Eastern United States and, under his, leadership, Kapson earned a reputation as one of the premier assisted living companies in the industry.
Mr. Kaplan has brought this experience and industry knowledge to KDG. The key to the company’s success is the fact that KDG maintains complete control over virtually all growth initiatives of the company, including performing its own site development, implementing innovative marketing programs internally, and effectively managing each property to ensure optimal quality at every facility.

Nearly a year ago, my father Alton Beideck, who was a resident of the retirement community Saranac Village at Will Rogers, passed away. We held a memorial service for my dad at Will Rogers, which was well attended by residents of Will Rogers as well as the surrounding community of the Saranac Lake area. I am greatly appreciative to Executive Director Jamie Whidden and his staff for hosting my dad’s memorial service, especially because the setting at Will Rogers is a much warmer setting than a funeral home.
As always, Jamie and his staff went above and beyond expectations to accommodate us. An example was when Jamie, on the spur of the moment, played taps on his harmonica at the end of a presentation by the local VFW (my dad was a WWII Army veteran). That was a deeply moving experience, and one I will never forget.
Director Jamie Whidden and his staff are compassionate and dedicated; you and the residents of Saranac Village at Will Rogers are fortunate to have them. Kudos to Jamie and his staff!
